About the Hisbonenus Institute

The Hisbonenus Institute was founded as a division of Beis Mussar Mei Hadaas, and is responsible for the writing and dissemination of Rav Leuchter’s shiurim. The Institute is staffed by veteran talmidim of Rav Leuchter, both English and Hebrew speaking, all of them bnei aliyah who have been hearing his shiurim for years. These avreichim have set as their goal to preserve Rav Leuchter’s profound and practical words and make his approach to avodas Hashem available to a larger audience.

How did the Hisbonenus Institute come about?

Throughout his decades-long career as a Torah teacher, educator, and speaker, Rav Leuchter has given thousands of shiurim on a broad range of topics. Many of these shiurim were preserved as recordings, some of which are accessible on the Mei Hadaas website.

With time, there has been increasing demand for the shiurim to be available in written form, as well. This led to the decision to create an entity that would professionally transcribe and edit recordings of the most sought-after shiurim for the benefit of the general public. The written shiurim enable mevakshei Hashem in any location to seek and access a derech avodah in a variety of areas — sifrei mussar, avodas hamiddos, and chinuch.

Other Hisbonenus Institute Projects

• The Hisbonenus Institute puts out a weekly dvar Torah, entitled “Hisbonenus,” based on Rav Leuchter’s mussar and chinuch insights on the parshas hashavua. The dvar Torah is intended to be short and easy-to-read, yet to provide readers with meaningful and practical ideas. The weekly Hisbonenus is available on the Mei Hadaas website and is distributed to thousands via email.
• In addition, the Institute publishes an annual kuntres, culled from Rav Leuchter’s series of shiurim delivered over the years on various topics, such as chinuch, menuchas hanefesh, and Shabbos.
• The Institute is also investing major efforts at this time to publish sefarim based on Rav Leuchter’s shiurim on Daas Tevunos, Perek Chelek, Nefesh Hachayim, and Maamar Derech Emunah (by the Alter of Kelm).

The Institute is also responsible for the publishing of all of Rav Leuchter’s existing sefarim — on Nefesh Hachayim, Ohr Yisrael, Avodas Hateshuvah, tefillah, insights into chinuch, and Hagaddah shel Pesach — works that are well accepted among baalei machshavah and mevakshei yirah and have been sold in the thousands.
